Welcome to the IHF High School Roller Hockey League
Established in 1998 in
Orange County California, the Interscholastic Hockey Federation (IHF) is an
AAU-sanctioned, nonprofit volunteer organization and the governing body for all
high school roller hockey in the Orange County, Inland Empire and southland
communities. IHF High School Roller Hockey League operates two seasons:
Fall-Winter and Spring, and games are held at our three roller hockey facility
partners including: The Rinks Irvine
Inline our home rink located in Irvine, CA; and The
Rinks (operated by the Anaheim Ducks)
at both Corona Inline and Huntington
Beach Inline.
Any team representing a California High School, public or private, is eligible to enter a High School Roller Hockey team in one or more
divisions. The IHF also
sponsors the Combo
Division - a "Leave No Players Behind" initiative to help put more
student-athletes on the rinks and a chance to play high school roller hockey
(read more about Combo 2010-11). Please stay in

A brief note from the
President…
It is my distinct pleasure to announce
that Toma Ghiran, Trabuco H.S. , has stepped up to serve as your next President
on the IHF Board of Directors. Toma comes to the Board after 2 years of
faithfully representing the interests of Trabuco High School and brings to the
office a great deal of enthusiasm and exciting new ideas. Please join me in
making him feel welcome when you see him next at the rink or fell free to drop
him an email at contact@ihf-hockey.org
. I would also like to thank each and every one you who have participated in the
IHF over these past few years that I have been involved. This is one of those
bittersweet moments finding relief in being relieved of the responsibilities of
serving on the Board, yet realizing it comes about as result of no longer having
a child in the program… turn, turn, turn. Kudus to fellow outgoing Board
member, Bill Schaible, Santiago H.S., last of the “Old Guard”. It was
Bill’s steady hand at work behind the scenes that provided schedules,
perspective during tough times and the voice of reason when all others were
unreasonable. He has served for over 5 years now, 2 of which without a child in
the program. That’s dedication!
Please join me in also welcoming the balance of your incoming Board, Vice
President - Stephen (Berger Canyon H.S.), Secretary - Barry Cheevers (El
Toro H.S.), Treasurer - Eddie Limbaga (The Rinks), Sargent at Arms -
Steve Shears (Villa Park H.S.) and Committee Chair - Michael Curran (Laguna
Hills H.S.). I would remind everyone that participating schools are required to
provide a representative to the board for service - which may take the form of a
committee member, game watcher, or Member depending on Board needs & each
person’s abilities.
Last but not least I would like to recognize the incredible contribution made by
my predecessor Jay Piz, Northwood H.S. – the IHF would not be what it is today
without your tireless efforts even to date my friend.
Just remember it’s only a game, but boy, what game.

State Cup returns again in 2012 to “The Rinks Irvine Inline “
Hosted by the
Interscholastic Hockey Federation (IHF) and
held at “The Rinks Irvine Inline”, this AAU sanctioned event invites
Scholastic Roller Hockey Teams to compete for the perennial State Cup - a
California Classic! High School teams from across California will compete for
both school pride and for The CUP...

School Roller Hockey Spring League

Week of March
The
Inaugural IHF Spring League was first announced during the Sept. 2010 Coach and Manager
Meeting for the 2012 Season. The IHF Spring League is staged each year to
commence following a short break after the IHF Fall/Winter Season Playoffs
(February) and immediately following the California
State Cup High School Roller Hockey Championships (March).
