A season-ending, fun evening event including a match-up of Junior Varsity standouts in the Mascot Cup, an awards ceremony for high school division champion teams, an awards ceremony for Special Achievers, and the marquis event featuring the Varsity All-Star game to round out the evening's card*... More details about the 2009 IHF All-Stars event is forthcoming and will be distributed in emails to all IHF Coaches and Managers, and to the Club Volunteers. In the meanwhile, please read the snapshot provided below

SELECTION
Selections to the All-Stars are from the league's top athletes with the highest standard of good sportsmanship, athletic accomplishments, and contribution to their team. Based on recommendations of Coaches and a mix of statistics including top scorers in the league, the league directors (the committee) will complete the final selection process and announce the All Star participants to the league via email and this website for all to view.

VARSITY ALL-STARS
All-Star Games will feature the best players from the Varsity Division, broken down by two geographical areas.

JUNIOR VARSITY ALL-STARS
THE MASCOT CUP... The Junior Varsity divisions will be represented by one player only from each school club regardless of the number of divisions that any club may field a team.

All-Star SPECIAL ACHIEVER AWARDS
Coaches and managers are invited to submit nominations of student-athletes from their club who may excel in their academic record, civic or community accomplishments, or even special contributions to their team or to our sport. Nominations received are then reviewed by the Board. In 2008, in addition to recognition by the Board, an award was created by then Ducks' general manager, Brian Burke, for honorees further recognizing their special accomplishments and contributions off the rink. The NHL Anaheim Ducks have again committed to support the 2009 IHF Special Achievers Award program! (read more from 2008).

NEXT... Now that we've announced the event, we need to make our final commitments to the event details and take the necessary actions. This includes the important components of Coach Ballots and volunteering with the All-Star Committee to help produce this exciting event.

COACH BALLOTS
The 2009 all-star selection process will first utilize a Coach Ballot for all divisions. VOLUNTEERS
Where would this sport be if not for the dedication of its volunteers?... Volunteers are needed to join and/or assist the committee with this event. (Each club has at least one assigned volunteer already rostered). Help is needed to help steer and organize the event, contact and secure sponsors, donations and gifts for the all-stars, produce the event itself, and more!  The committee is chaired by Board president Jay Piz and co-chaired by Board member Bill Schaible.
