articles and references for the high school roller hockey community.
The
IHF is dedicated to the belief that playing with classmates for
the school colors and mascot is an important part of the roller hockey
experience growing up. High School
Roller Hockey (or scholastic, high school inline hockey) is an important segment
to the sport and important to sustaining its growth. Aside from the IHF High
School Roller Hockey League based in Orange County California, high school
roller leagues and teams are organized and compete in many communities across
the country. Scholastic teams may compete as independent Leagues of their own or
as part of a rink's in-house program. In some cases, scholastic hockey programs
consist of middle school, junior high and high school teams. These scholastic
hockey programs may operate under the guidelines of the Amateur Athletic Union
(AAU) or USA Hockey Inline. Regardless of affiliation, scholastic hockey
programs of middle school, junior high, high school and even collegiate hockey
share the common bond of
playing for school pride and, as such, remain a unique
and increasingly important segment of the sport.
