IHF Playoffs commence on Monday, March 2, 2009
The playoffs for each division will begin the week of March 2nd and include only
the Top 8 Teams in each division except JVC where all teams will be in
the playoffs due to the size of this division. All playoff games will be held on
weeknights and at The 949 Roller Hockey Center in Irvine - the home rink to the
League. Playoffs will include Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Finals.
The Playoff Schedule will be released only when all regular season games for all
divisions have been completed. Also, new this year is when compliant teams -
based on Coaches who have completed their required certification* - will be
added/deleted to the Playoff Schedule. Teams who may be
"on-the-bubble" should be on alert to move up to the playoffs in the
event that any Top 8 team may not be in compliance and, thus be ineligible. The
Playoff Schedule will be released to the teams over the weekend before Playoffs.
Semifinals.
Schedule: Last Week of Regular Season
Managers, Coaches and Players are reminded that
Team Binders and Player's Student High School ID Cards will be checked prior to
the first game of the Playoffs. IHF Officials will be present to review Team
Binders and verify Student ID cards for each Players as well as each Coach's
Certification and AAU membership for Players and Coaches as a requisite to
entering the playing surface for the first playoff game. There will be no
exceptions and all Rules will be enforced.
REMINDERS...
All Managers should be sure that their team binders are updated and in order and for all requirements.
All Coaches should be sure to have their credentials placed into the binder: NFHS certificate copy and AAU Membership card.
All Players should be sure to arrive early at the rink for the pregame check in.
All Players must check in with the IHF Official and show proof of their identity via a School ID / ASB card in advance to the game.
All Players must have played a minimum of 5-games, and Goalies 3-games, on the team which they are rostered.
All Coaches must have proof of an NFHS certificate to enter the rink with their team.
Suggestions...
All players should double check their bags for all gear, both game jerseys, and all equipment before departing to the game.
All players should double check their skates: skates must have all wheels - missing wheels are
a safety violation and penalty, and player may not play until the missing wheel is replaced.
All players should be sure to check their helmet and make sure all nuts and bolts tight and all straps are in place and working.
All players must have a mouth guard in place at game time (an extra in the bag is suggested).

Reports
While game schedules and some statistics for IHF Games are reported on the 949
web site, the IHF Standing Reports are the only source used to determine
standings/rankings for the League. This is due to the many factors specific to
the League (i.e. Realignments, Actual Games Played, etc.) and that factually
record the League's statistics.

* IHF RULES 2008-09 | SECTION II. GAME MANAGEMENT
1. All Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches must have a current AAU Inline Hockey Registration and Coaching Certification as required by IHF.
a. All IHF Coaches must meet a minimum Coach Certification requirement in accordance with CIF guidelines for basic coach training: All Coaches, paid or unpaid, must be certified in Coaches Education by December 31, 2008. Coaches can now become certified online for $52 or in a classroom setting by one of California's Instructors as offered through the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course at
http://nfhslearn.com/ . Coaches must provide the League with certification in advance to the first game in January, 2009. Failure to provide requested evidence of certification will result in ineligibility to coach any team in playoff or postseason and/or IHF sanctioned competitions in 2009.
b. All IHF Coaches and Assistant Coaches must be in compliance with Scholastic level certification requirements as may be defined by USARS, the AAU and/or the IHF by or before the beginning of the first regular season game of each season beginning after 2008.
